Christmas Recap: Presents and Events!

2010 has been one of my favorite Christmas' thus far. Not only were there low expectations that were exceeded by a longshot, but being with family and going to the farm felt particularly special this year. My parents warned us yet again with the "This year is going to be your smallest Christmas yet so don't get excited I mean it this year", and while I get that every year from that I really believed them this year. My christmas list consisted of three things and none of them were things I couldn't live without. We went to church at the local Chapel on Christmas Eve, and then a quick party and then got home for dinner around 8. We ate yummy soup, opened up our traditional Jammies from Grammy and went to my brothers room where my sister and I always sleep on the floor the night before Christmas. While usually I lie awake restlessly in anticipation for Santa to come, I was feeling tired (thank goodness!) and fell right asleep. When I woke up it was already eight fifteen and eight thirty is the time when we're allowed to go see if Santa came! Yet again he came through, bringing me my favorite gift of the day, a swirly initial "V" gold necklace by Jennifer Zeuner that I have been wanting for for-eeever! I was so excited to see what it looked like because online there are only pictures of "T" and "L", and I lose the "V"! The next thing I got was a ring from my grandma that I absolutely love, and my next favorite thing a monogrammed blackberry case I have been dying for!  Lots of other fun goodies but I'll stop at that. Overall, such a fun Christmas and my parents again went all out. Hope everyone had wonderful Christmas' I'd love to hear your favorite gifts you received or gave!

Bad picture, but here's my "V" Jennifer Zeuner necklace! I absolutely love it!

Day at the Farm!

So the title of my blog might just sound like I'm another girl who lives in the south but doesn't live like it, but that's not me. My grandpa on my dad's side owns a farm on the Coast, and it's about 800 acres and that's where I went this week! The house on the land is where we stay the night and it was built in the 1700's and is veeery old and dirty inside, so we only stay a few days at a time and this time was my favorite time we've ever been. The first day we went was the day after a big snow and the ground was absolutely covered. At home there were about four inches of snow but there were at least seven or eight at the farm. I left with my dad and brother and my mom and sister stayed at home so we had a little more freedom to be wild and have fun, because that's what Dad's are for (sorry mom, love you!). My dad was thinking of things to do while we drove because it's a two to three hour drive and the first thing he threw out was tubing. Tubing..?? It was thirty two degrees and we were not about to get on the boat much less in the water so before he finished I cut him off and made sure he knew my answer was "NO!" But as he continued afterwards he explained he didn't mean tubing on the water..he meant in the field over the snow behind our big blue Ford Raptor truck! (Pictures below!)My brother and I jumped on the idea and it was the first thing we started preparing for when we unloaded all of our things into the car.
As we got ready to drive from the house to the building with the tube we noticed a car pulling up to the house. This was peculiar because my grandpa who owned the farm passed away over a year ago and nobody was allowed on the farm other than our family (my dad has five siblings with families who own it also), and he didn't know of anyone else coming down that weekend. But we were wrong! My uncle came down with his two boys and we all tubed together. It was so much fun and so redneck but I can't remember the last time I did something weird like that and I can't wait to do it again! The next fun thing was a night four wheeler "bear hunt" where we searched for bears simply to see because they don't hibernate around here! The search was unsuccessful but many deers were spotted and it was magical seeing all of the snow at night! Very fun trip, but it's been nice being able to shower again at home!
My cousins, brother and I on the tube!

David Yurman n00b

So I am new to loving David Yurman, which by no means means that I am not now obsessed with it, just means that I was unaware of the never out of style trend until now. My mother, though a sorority girl and fashionista herself, has been reluctant to introduce me to brands that are going to make her wish I had never heard of them.  One of my good friends has a lot of Yurman and has convinced me it's an investment worth making. I am now in love with Yurman also, and faced with a tough dilemma. It is time for my first piece  and I can't decide what I love the most! My budget is five hundred and I am thinking of going for basic so that I will have a piece I can wear with everything since it'll be my only piece so far! The two front runners are the silver cable bracelet with gold and pearls and the silver bracelet with gold. This is my first blog post ever so I suppose an introduction would have been more appropriate but I'll get to that later I was too anxious I had to write this first! Will write later!
